Figs. 1 and 2 shows a UV 01A Royal Blue made tube with a S-18 bulb shape but otherwise made somewhat like a Brightson, with a mottled maroon colored base. Inked on the base are just enough letters, about half, to prove it is in fact a Royal Blue. The box picture for same is in fig. 2. I have only seen 1 other Royal Blue sold on Worthpoint many years ago so it may be quite hard to find.
Figs. 3 and 4. The blue Brightson vacuum tube, with the inked paper tag stating a very early production number of 1595, came in this one tube presentation box. The box itself is different shaped with rounded corners that can be seen under the blue covering and is larger than normal. The early production number on the paper tag coupled with the different box design may indicate it some of the first made by Brightson?
Figs. 5 and 6. are pictures of another Brightson in the one tube box with a lift of cover, which is different than others I have seen. The paper tag sees a production number of 9896 which is probably somewhat far along in their total production amounts. It would be interesting to assemble production numbers so it could be established how many tubes were actually made by Brightson? I will think about working on that.
Fig. 7. To me, this is a mystery UX 01A tube made much like a Brightson with the mottled maroon Bakelite base. The paper tag states Series-28 and was made by the A.R.T. Company. Arcturus shipping boxes say Arcturus Radio Tube Company so is the A.R.T Company words, for short mean, that Arcturus made the tube? I have posed the question to a group of collectors withouit an answer yet.
Fig. 8. Last but not least is the Milo UV 01A tube and Box. This box seems to be an earlier version of other boxes I have seen with a picture of Venus De Milo pictured. The base is inked with the Milo and specs that is mostly very clear. Could use a bit of information on this thought as well.
Cannot say why I like the blue colored tubes as I am somewhat color blind to their color. The blue is shifted to more of a green color to me?
